Outfit from November 2021.
November is where my birthday lives, which gives me a degree of higher pressure to both look good and indulge myself.
In the previous year I used the Persona 3 Portable Protagonist as a base. While I did not do a Halloween costume this year, I also did not want to do another cosplay for my birthday.
I have a long history with the Phantasy Star series, and the Online games in particular due to raw hour count. So I thought I would represent a mix of things I own reasonable variations of in real life, and add dashes of the science fiction space fantasy anime look.
Things like the glasses and suit jacket have close real world approximations for me. I even own a pair of pants with glow in the dark lines all over the stitching, though not in this color. Then I complimented them with accents like pink neon coil lighting around my footwear, as well as a set of Rare Drop Earrings.
These earrings in particular cycle through a rainbow of colors, like the rare drop symbol for thirteen through fifteen star rarity items. So I never could be sure what color would show up on the screenshots until checking on them later.
In the time between my previous moon viewing festival outfit and this one: a new graphics engine model of a haircut which better suits my tastes came out!
So for the first time, I went and gave myself a haircut with something I picked up off the player shops. Only a few new styles of hair rendered in the new graphics engine drip out each month, and just about everyone wants to use them over the older PSO 2 hairstyles. So there is a lot of supply and demand market crunch on new styles.
I paid several million Meseta, but, I will be happy with this for quite some time.
I even made sure to get casual shots outside of at least one Salon. I go there in game a fair amount, after all!
…Meanwhile, in real life, as I write this in February 2022: I have not enjoyed an actual haircut since February 2020.
At the risk of sounding too serious or sappy: my screenshots this time also have something of this sentiment behind them.
Due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, as well as my Frontline Essential Worker status, I have not been able to have a nice night or day out for literal years now.
But I can at least always dress up and take myself somewhere online.
